Veterans Day , November 11, 2008

On this day, Thank a Veteran, AND their family, for their active service, we remember with gratitude all of those many bold men and women who have provided such honorable military service.

Military.com has a nice tribute at:

MadScience's V'Log Tribute is very nice on YouTube:

Thank you one and all for your noble service-- from all our diversity that makes us a whole nation, with different walks of life. Being a soldier, or the family of active duty military is a labor, for many, the hardship is much greater than inconvenience of "what to do with the kids" while you are at work. This can be a choice, filled with hardship and a myriad of physical, mental emotional and financial difficulties that affect both the veteran, and their respective family-- issues of housing, healthcare, employment, and paying the bills takes on a new dimension for active duty and service veterans.

We have celebrated in past editions of Helping Friends Career Network, companies that demonstrate uncommon caring for their Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel.

This year, there is some new good news business cause--- Wings4Aviators is a site created by pilots, for pilots, www.wings4aviators.com, that custom-embroiders U.S. military aviator's wings and call signs on quality shirts and jackets. They are donating 10% of the proceeds of every sale to the Families of the Wounded Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity.
